In order to improve upon the above issues, we must first look at what objective/subjective data can be gathered from the healthcare experience. For this purpose, Satterfield Services International has developed the Patient Satisfaction App. Rather than individual Physicians being rated on their care, the entire healthcare experience would be rated and commented on by patients and families. Each healthcare department has their own evaluation. Thus, creating a departmental responsibility for excellence. At the end of each patient experience episode (clinic visit or entire hospital stay), patients will receive an encryption code to access the smartphone app for that specific healthcare episode. They would answer a few simple questions regarding their experience and why they answered the questions a certain way. The survey lasts less than 5 minutes. All information is completely anonymous, which may increase patient usage of the survey. The data from the surveys will be uploaded immediately to an online repository with Satterfield International. The data will be complied into monthly reports to the hospitals, healthcare organizations and healthcare providers.
